# Build

In EXAMIND you build the **questions**, then bring them together into an **assessment**. How that works depends on the assessment type — and that distinction is the key thing to understand here:

* **Question-based assessments** — **exams, quizzes, and practice** are assembled from your question bank. Most of this section is about creating and organizing those questions.
* **Single-question assessments** — **Essay** and **Simulation** are *not* built from the question bank. Each is one specialized prompt (a written response in the essay room, or an AI-powered scenario), configured directly in the [Assessment Builder](/v1/examind-platform/build/assessments/assessment-types.md).

## The question-based flow (exams, quizzes, practice)

1. **Create questions** in the [question builder](/v1/examind-platform/build/question-builder.md) — across eight question types, optionally making them [dynamic](/v1/examind-platform/build/question-builder/dynamic-questions.md) so every student gets a unique variant.
2. **Organize and reuse** them in the [question bank](/v1/examind-platform/build/question-bank.md) — share questions across courses, and [pool](/v1/examind-platform/build/question-bank/question-pools.md) them to randomize which questions each student sees.
3. **Assemble** them into an [exam, quiz, or practice](/v1/examind-platform/build/assessments/assessment-types/exams-quizzes-practice.md) assessment: add questions, group them, and set their order.

The [**dynamic question engine**](/v1/examind-platform/build/question-builder/dynamic-questions.md) underlies all of this — turning a single question into a unique per-student variant is central to EXAMIND's approach to academic integrity.
