# Without Canvas

Anyone — you or your students — can use Feedback Machines by signing in at [feedbackmachines.com](https://feedbackmachines.com) with a university email; the site emails a one-time login link. No integration is required, so this works whatever LMS your institution uses, or none at all. It's also the quickest way to try Feedback Machines yourself.

{% hint style="info" %}
This path needs no IT setup. If your institution uses Canvas and you'd prefer students reach Feedback Machines from the course with no separate login, see [Using Canvas](/v1/feedback-machines/get-started/using-canvas.md) instead.
{% endhint %}

## Try it yourself

1. Sign in at [feedbackmachines.com](https://feedbackmachines.com) with your university email and open the login link it sends you.
2. [Build a Feedback Machine](/v1/feedback-machines/build-a-feedback-machine.md).
3. Test it on a sample submission to see the feedback and grading it produces.

You can also run [Bulk Grading Assist](/v1/feedback-machines/bulk-grading-assist.md) entirely through direct login.

## Give students access by email

To let students use a Feedback Machine without Canvas, add their emails to your class:

1. Open your class and find the **Students** field.
2. Paste your students' emails. The field is forgiving: separate them by commas, spaces, or new lines, and it pulls out the valid email addresses (ignoring names or other stray text) and removes duplicates, showing each as a chip you can delete.
3. Each student then signs in at [feedbackmachines.com](https://feedbackmachines.com) with that email and gets access to **every Feedback Machine shared with that class**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Login emails often land in spam.** University mail systems frequently route the one-time login link to junk or spam folders. Check there if you don't see it, and tell your students to do the same.
{% endhint %}
